A SPECIAL WELCOME TO YOU
Welcome to Second Presbyterian Church! Our congregation was founded in 1842, and moved into its current building in 1874. We are a multicultural congregation of many diverse races and cultures. We all find meaning in the search for God’s spirit. Although Presbyterian, we are multi-denominational in our orientation and interfaith in our outlook. All are welcome here—every ethnic group, economic class and sexual orientation are joyfully celebrated within God’s inclusive love. We find diversity our greatest strength, and welcome the spiritual unity that comes through our differences.
Each Sunday we come together in worship, to love and support each other. The heart of Second Presbyterian Church involves all the women, men and children who walk in and out of our doors. We seek to be “a church without walls that loves without limits”. Within this congregation, you will find a wonderful group of people with open hearts and open minds– who have found the joy of spiritual friendship through responding to the call to serve our community.
Our worship service begins at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday morning. The traditional service includes organ music, rousing hymns and anthems, relevant readings, prayers and preaching. After each service is a lite luncheon for all in attendance. All are welcome.
Our goal at Second Presbyterian Church is to become a neighborhood church, a center for our community to meet, discuss and share life together, making life better for all.
